As the former Global Manager of UN Tourism’s Tourism for Rural Development Programme, he played a vital role in promoting tourism to improve rural well-being worldwide. He also led the Smart Tourism Destination Initiative in Spain as President-CEO of SEGITTUR and is a Professor of Innovation Management, previously serving as Director of the Travel & Tourism Innovation Initiative at IE University. His work has earned international recognition, with accolades like the UNWTO Ulysses Award for Innovation in Research and Technology and the WTTC Global Champion Award.
Beyond his contributions to tourism innovation, Antonio co-founded Tourism Data-Driven Solutions, a global consultancy that specializes in smart tourism strategies and remains a passionate advocate for digital transformation in the travel industry.
